The original investment in Koeltehuis (Pty) Ltd was made in the beginning of 2007 when The RJ Khoza Family Trust purchased the farm and the packhouse. The operation has since been trading profitably and grown significantly, most notably with the acquisition of an extensive construction vehicle fleet and the recent multi-million Rand upgrade and expansion of the neighbouring packhouse Koeltehof Packers, which now has dedicated hands-on management and seasonal capacity for 225 tonnes per 9-hour shift (4950 tonnes a month) – more than double its previous capacity.
